As part of our 90th anniversary celebrations, we visited Royal Leamington Spa and played on the hallowed turf of the home of Bowls England, as seen on television during the Commonwealth Games.
Our opponents were Royal Leamington Spa Bowls Club and we played two matches of 8 triples, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Overall, we declare the contest a draw as Amersham won the morning session and Leamington Spa the afternoon.
The venue is a spectacle with a very grand pavilion in front of 5 adjacent bowling greens all maintained to a high standard.
We were treated to a most impressive buffet!
