With effect from 25 May 2018, UK legislation relating to the holding of personal data on individuals changed with the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulations 2018. This Notice is to clarify the rights of individuals and the position of the Club.
Clause 3.4 of the Club Constitution requires all members to provide up-to-date contact details (names, addresses, telephone numbers and any email addresses) which are then recorded in the Register of Members and used only for Club purposes. All members have agreed to abide by the Club Constitution, and expressly consented to the Club holding personal data for Club purposes, when they signed the membership application/renewal form at the commencement of the season.
The Club treats privacy seriously and will take all reasonable steps to protect it from third parties, given the nature of the Club and the need for other members to have access to the personal data of the membership in general. It is obvious that for the Club to operate properly such personal data is essential for lawful Club purposes and for as long as membership continues. However, the Club is required by the above Regulations to inform members that they are entitled at any time to withdraw consent to the holding of their personal data. Members who wish to avail themselves of this entitlement should do so by letter sent to the Club Secretary.
