Despite some trepidation over the weather forecast, by the time the teams started arriving the rain had gone and the sun had come out and by mid afternoon there were blue skies and glorious sunshine. The afternoon commenced with a spider in aid of this year's nominated charity - The Blood Biker's, followed by three games of 7 ends, with breaks for tea/coffee and cake in between. We had a total of 14 teams entered this year from 11 other 'local' clubs, with three teams from Deane Park and two from Hemel Hempstead; so the green had to be laid out for 7 rinks, all of which played well and drew many positive comments from our visitors.
The final result was extremely tight with four teams achieving a total of 29 points. The winners were the team from Wexham, with a shot difference of +20. We then had two teams with the same shot difference of +13, so the second and third places had to be decided on ends won, resulting in one of the Deane Park teams coming second and the team from the Royal Household third. One of the Hemel Hempstead teams, whose shot difference was (only) +11 were fourth.
Thanks to everyone, ladies and men, who helped make the day such a success, but in particularly to Linda English and Margaret Sherlock for organising the event and Anne Begley and her Catering Committee members for providing cakes and the meal at the end.
